Boy’s Winter Leagues – Updated 11/2023
Details
This year we will be focusing on box lacrosse concepts and playing in the new Nexus Center! We’ll teach players new stick skills, mastery of picking and rolling, team offense and defense. We’ll transition from clinic type practices to playing games. We’ve seen a transformation of players time and time again. The skills offered in box lacrosse directly relate to field lacrosse. Playing in tight spaces, knowing when to slide on defense, the two-man game, constant motion on offense, and relentless pursuit of ground balls. Each player we’ve taught box lacrosse to has become a better field player. We have goalie equipment for kids that want to try that position out or we’ll provide goalies to play during practices.

- Starts: December 3
- Dates. Dec 3, 10, 17, Jan 7, 14, 21, 28, Feb 4, 18(9 weeks)
- Tentative Make Up Dates: 2/25, 3/3, 3/10 – we still need to confirm with Nexus
- Game Times:
- Boys and Girls 3rd-6th (see NOTE below): 5:00-6:00 PM each game date
- Boys Modified 7th – 8th grade: Scrimmage/Clinic 7:30-8:30 PM each game date
- Boys Varsity 9th – 12th: Scrimmage/Clinic 8:30-9:30 PM each game date.
- NOTE: SORRY WE ARE NOT PLANNING ON OFFERING KINDERCROSSE THIS SESSION (K-2nd beginners). Experienced 2nd graders can play up.
- NOTE: The Boys and Girls 3rd-6th grade session is box lacrosse. Rules/skills and play are the same for boys and girls. Girls will be required to use full helmets, boys style sticks, shoulder and arm pads, and gloves.

- Clinic/Scrimmage Format:
We will be running stations for all positions and have a host of box lacrosse coaches to teach skills and drills. We will scrimmage each game night as well.
